Town Traveller: The most beautiful religious site in Rio! This museum is a must-see, and it's less than $1 usd. Its definitely worth it. The golden ceiling and the information about its patrons.

Psychiatrist MD: Wow, this place is just BEAUTIFUL,everybody when in Rio ,should come here, the Saint Antony monastery and the cultural center are the same building,you pay 10 reais and there you are, Carioca subway station is just some stepts ahead, i can say without any Doubt, this is the Most Beautiful Church i know and i been in several ones, so Come and Enjoy you wont be dissapointed.
Vadim Solodukhin: The history of the convent dates back to 1592. The interior of the church is simple but the main chapel and side altars have magnificent gilded woodwork from the 1716-1719 period. The convent is located on the hill: you can walk up the stairs or take the elevator at the end of the gallery tunnel on the bottom of the hill. One of the oldest colonial settlements remaining in the city.
