kadir asar: I didn't stay here, but I had a half-hour conversation with the reception staff. They definitely don't understand the wanderlust spirit. I'm new to the city and I don't have any cash on me. If I'm going to pay with dollars or a credit card, they charge a higher price. I said I would leave my bag and change money in the city center and pay, but they didn't accept it. Of course, it's their choice. But even though I had money, the way I was treated was disgraceful. I definitely do not recommend it to travelers.

Anna Kongstad: This is the worst hostel ever I will give them the lowest rating. They won’t allow you to turn on the air condition, so you literally sweat all the time and will not get a proper sleep. The hygiene is so bad - holes in the blankets, the bathroom smells, and I got dust allergy. When you try to communicate/text the owner, he ignores you. Over all: don’t stay here unless it’s your last option. There are also big bugs crawling on you when you sleep because of the bad hygiene. None of the employees speak English and one of them can be really rude if you ask for help or have a complaint. But honestly the biggest problem is the air condition. It will literally ruin your sleep so much you can’t enjoy your days in Rio the same. On booking it says they have air condition so it is fake advertising. The kitchen is NOT well equipped. And don’t leave your stuff in the fridge, it will get stolen. Even though we put our names on our things, we still got several items stolen.

Jack: Great location close to everything in Rio, amazing staff who go out of their way to help you with anything and everything. Very clean premises! Recommend to anyone looking for a hostel in Rio. The location is amazing, a short and very cheap bus ride from Copacabana, hostel staff showed us the bus stop and made sure we got the correct bus. A short and cheap Uber ride to all attractions in Rio, we didn’t pay over 15real! A great bakery less than a minutes walk away, perfect for breakfast. As well as açai, restaurants and a supermarket within a couple of minutes walk. One of our bags did not arrive and was stuck in New Zealand, hostel staff continually communicated with the airport on our behalf as we do not speak Portuguese over the 3 days until it arrived. Staff also assisted us with booking any tickets and any information we needed. The room, kitchen and bathroom were all very clean and comfortable. The kitchen is fully equipped to make meals. The hostel is very social, they held a BBQ for staff and guests and catered for me when I said I was vegetarian, the food was absolutely amazing and a good opportunity to meet other guests. A truly amazing stay here. Thank you so much Emerson and Co!

Maellyne: 5 days staying at this place... and it's pretty good. Location is a bit sketchy not going to lie but inside it's pretty peaceful. The female room is quiet and clean. This place feels like I'm at home. Definitely not Copacabana Palace, but it is awesome for the price they charge. 🤙🏼

Natanael Ramos: Great rooms for the small price. All of them are clean, including the bathrooms. The people working here are very receptive. The place is in a good location for tourism also.
