Victoria Sgro: Great location, super comfy beds. I like the room too (8 share female). Great if you don’t need a kitchen, but If you’re looking to cook, this place isn’t for you. The kitchen is off limits till 10am to push the paid breakfast, but even after this, it’s in use for staff meals . A few staff aren’t the friendliest, although the language barrier of course a challenge on both sides. I like the location, super close to the mall and everything Barra has to offer! Would recommend this place to all, besides those needing to use a kitchen haha.

Thomas Soares Mullen: Stayed at hostel Barra for several days The staff were very friendly and provided many tips on where to go. Everyday they provided a substantial breakfast. The location was ideal to go to beach for a morning dip and close enough to access the centre within 15mins. They changed bedding everyday and cleaned all areas. There was a good balance of calmness and socialising. The place exceeded my expectations and will definitely return if I go back to Salvador.

David Gabrić: Great hostel if you love to socialize with other travelers. I liked the communal zones and the staff was extra friendly. The only thing that I didn't like is that the cleaning ladies come in 9AM to the dormitory room, open up the balcony door and the entrance door, and start talking loudly while 50% of the room is sleeping. Not sure how they cannot do this service later when everyone is awake. Also, not the problem of the hostel, but be aware that there will be people inside wh o are very inconsiderate, leaving the stacks of their clothes all over the room and bathroom etc. Overall, best hostel in Salvador so far from my humble experience. The Christmas Eve barbecue improved my impression of it as well. 😋

Juan Knaak: Two Stars only for the interior and the location. But the system, the organisation and some of the volunteers.... no words for it. They are very inflexible with extends and for them it's all about the money. Prices are changing daily and every tells you something different. You get different beds then booked without excuses. Then you get a bed in the volunteers room, what is not that bad but if you arrive it can be they are sleeping in your bed or they lay there stuff on it. If it comes to misunderstandings the volunteers are friendly but the employees geting unfriendly and impatient. Sorry for that but my honest opinion.

Annika: I would definitely not recommend this hostel. The people working there are very rude and condescending. We had to come to the hostel because of a health emergency and even after telling them this they continued to be rude and didn’t believe us that we had to go to the hospital. They even asked us for the name of the hospital in a condescending way. The bedroom was really gross and disgusting. There was a really bad smell in the bathroom. Additionally, the room smelled like someone pissed on the matress. The window and door made very loud noises at the slightest gust of wind. They were clearly out of standard. The bed was damp and dirty as well which felt uncomfortable and like the room hadn’t been cleaned.
