Hotel Pousada Shangri-la

Bruno Ranginha: Check-in was at 17:00 when we arrived at the hotel at noon. However, we were told that our room would not be ready until 17:30, so we went to the restaurant to have lunch. The food presentation and taste were nothing like what was shown in the pictures on the website. So, we decided to go into town and wait until the check-in time of 17:25. We returned at 17:35 expecting our rooms to be ready, as any great hotel would do. However, they informed us that our room was ready and when the receptionist took us there, we had to walk over buckets and garbage bags. To our disappointment, the room was not ready and we had to go back to the reception and wait an additional 15 minutes. My wife was furious because we paid over R$650 for one of the most expensive hotels in the city. When we entered the room, we found the bathtub dirty, with missing silicone in every corner. The windows were not properly sealed, allowing cold air to come in at night. Additionally, the electrical pipes were visible from the bathtub and other parts of the room were not clean. The bathroom floor had mold and bugs, and the door knob was in poor condition. We were also surprised to find that there were only 4 hangers in the room, which was not sufficient for a couple. The glasses provided were dirty and the door to the balcony was unfinished, as they had run out of paint. We were shocked to find that the toilet brush had feces on it. Considering the high price of RS600 per night, we expected a much better experience. Unfortunately, there was no manager available to address our concerns and it seemed that no one was in charge of maintenance. How is it possible that this room has not been closed for renovation? This was one of the worst experiences of my life. I provided all of this feedback to the reception, but nobody has contacted me. I would advise anyone to stay somewhere else as it would surely be better. This hotel is not worth R$200.

Alexandre Abe: The hotel is not located close to the city center, providing some privacy, which is further experienced by the independent villas. The rooms are well equiped and confortable with a fireplace, necessary for the winter cold nights. The internet connection is stable and reliable: I was able to work while my family was enjoying the city and the hotel. The view is magnificent, from the valley below. The restaurant is one of the best in town and the breakfeast is also very good in terms of quality of the food as well as to the assortment.

Graham Newman: Awesome view and overall it's good, but they charge a four star price for a three star experience.
