Shafola: One of the Worst Stays I've Ever Had We booked a room on the upper floor as shown in the listing, but upon arrival, we were given a completely different room on the ground floor with no proper ventilation. Above the room was a terrace, and we could constantly hear people walking and talking overhead, which made it difficult to relax or sleep. The room had no proper lock — it could only be secured from the inside using a loose metal bar, which made us feel extremely unsafe. Even worse, the room wasn’t ready when we arrived. We had to wait in the reception area while a staff member changed the bedsheets, which turned out to be in poor condition. The towels were thin, old, and yellowish, there were no blankets provided, and the room was cluttered with random items, as if it were being used as a storage space. The listing also showed a washing machine, which was one of the reasons we booked this place. However, when we asked to use it, the host flatly refused — another misleading detail in the listing. Payment was also a frustrating experience. We booked for three nights and paid for the first. Due to difficulty exchanging currency, we were unable to pay for the second night right away. We offered to pay in USD or settle the payment the next morning, but the host became aggressive and threatened us multiple times, saying we would not be allowed to stay another night unless we paid immediately. The level of hostility was completely uncalled for and very stressful. In short, if you're looking for a place with poor service, misleading information, and a hostile host, this property is exactly that. I would strongly advise others to avoid it.
Oskar Ruschmann: For the price this is a really good hostel. Very basic, and located rather far from most attractions (decent metro connection and safe area tho), but the staff was very nice, and everything was clean enough. Not a party hostel at all, but full of nice people, mostly Brazilians. My only two issues are 1. There was no air conditioning, just a fan in my room, so one night I barely managed to sleep 2. The bedsheets were the shitty flat kind that seems so prevalent in Brazil. They came off every single night. I would definitely come here again, but not in the hot summer months, because of the lack of arcon
Dimi B: Perfect for a solo traveler. QUIET LOCATION, SHOPS NEARBY, DECENT BEDS. CLEAN. GREAT STAFF. At first, I was like where am I? Is this really a hostel. Fortunately as time went on, I did not want to leave! Amazing people here, my first experience in Brazil did not disappoint. Took a day or so to become oriented to the location of it being a few minutes outside of the city. I miss the people there already
Ana Carolina Rodrigues Duarte: This was far the best hostel I`ve stayed in Brazil, the place is clean, the atmosphere is nice, the staff is helpful and friendly. The proprietor is present to ensure the good standard. The room I stayed was mixed for 6 people, it had its own balcony with a nice view. Location was also great for those who want to visit Ibirapuera Pard and nice neighborhoods like Moema and Campo Belo. I highly recommend it!
Ram Pragadish: Very unique hostel in the sense you could find people who love music. The owner and the receptionist are very kind and helpful. The hostel is clean and good. The restrooms are excellently maintained. The best thing is the fridge with drinks is left open and you can take a drink and just fill a card in your name.
