Municipal Zoo of Guarulhos

Tahlia Conlan: I really liked this zoo. The animals were beautiful and well looked after. My understanding is that they are a privately run zoo, which heavily relies on the tourism to fund it (no government funding) so for what it’s worth, I think they do an amazing job and can understand why tickets might seem a little bit pricey. In comparison to Australian zoos, I considered it well priced. The staff were all so kind, they didn’t speak much English, and my Portuguese was terrible, but they were happy to use google translate when required. I just wish some of the areas were a little bigger for some of the animals, and that some of the enclosures looked a bit more green. But other than that, you can’t complain!

Martina Jesenska: The ZOO is small but nice. Many cages were on maintanance, so there weren't many animals to be seen. On Sunday it was full of people, mainly with kids as there is a big playground and picnic area. On week day it would be much better.

Ren P: Free admissions Zoo, with a good variety of Birds and monkeys, there's even an alligator pond. Its great to walk around and enjoy nature.

Lewis Brockbank: Free entry. Plenty of different animals and birds to see. Not so big as the little ones get exhausted, like other zoos. Also has a playground where the kiddies can run around after seeing the animals, and a cafe to buy refreshments (coxinha, ice cream, water etc.)
