M. Ali: I had a terrible experience with Vittoria Hostel. I booked for two nights and they confirmed that they would pick me up from the airport, but no one showed up. I had to arrange my own taxi. When I arrived at the hostel late at night with a confirmed booking, the staff were completely drunk and very rude. They refused to give me a room, told me to leave, and behaved in an unprofessional and disrespectful way. The location was also extremely unpleasant and unsafe. I had to struggle to find another hotel in the middle of the night. I strongly recommend that no one ever stays at this hostel.
Lishi Mk: Very bad experience. I had a booking but when I arrived, the staff behaved very rudely and unprofessionally. Service was terrible and the attitude was extremely poor. Totally disappointed and would not recommend this hotel to anyone
Patricia Ready: Very clean and comfortable. Good WiFi. For various reasons a pick-up from the airport wasn't possible, but Vitoria welcomed me from the taxi and took trouble to explain everything I needed to know, give me a coffee and arrange a lift to the airport for the next day. She also gave me a better room as one was available. If I had not been reasonably fluent in Portuguese the check-in might have been more difficult. I did not see her again for the rest of my stay. There was a VERY loud street party just around the corner from midnight until 7am, but I slept quite well despite this. I asked my driver the next day if it happens every Saturday and he said not, it was a particular celebration, but looking at other reviews I suspect it may happen fairly often. The internal stairs are quite steep and could be a problem for anyone with limited mobility. As a convenient place to stay close to the airport, with a comfortable bed and efficient shower, Hostel Vitoria offers good value for money. Be prepared for street noise, though!
