Jane Mathias: The best Brazillian food I had during my trip to Rio. Walked in and this place was packed with locals. It had a good charm about it. We were seated and ordered the cod fish ball which was delicious and the brazillian lamb with broccoli rice and potatoes - this dish was the highlight meal of our entire 10 day trip. The lamb is baked for 8-10 hrs and then deep fried to give it the perfect texture and bring out all the flavors that are balanced by the broccoli rice and garlic potatoes. We also tried their Colorado beer and it paired very well with the meal. Service was quick and if I would return to Brazil, i would definitely stop by here again without a doubt. Highly recommend this gem of a place.

Tila Nguyen: A friend from Rio took me out to this restaurant on my last night and it definitely didn't disappoint. Great ambience (although the one next table was very very noisy) and the air conditioning was for sure a plus. The service was quick and very friendly. We ordered the Oswaldo Aranha steak which came with rice and potatoes. It was really perfect and tasted so good. The quality of the meat was top. However, the portion was huge and would have easily filled 1-2 more people. The value for money was also right. I can heartily recommend the restaurant. I couldn't have imagined a better last dinner in Rio :-)

Aleksander Pławski: Definitely an overrated place. We wanted to eat something more local and classic in a place with tradition. Total disappointment. Our worst meal in Brazil. Dishes without any taste, overcooked vegetables and both fish tasteless. I like salmon and eat it often in various places around the world, but this was definitely the worst. It's a pity, because the service was really nice and we are sorry to write such a review.

Olga Maevskaia: Visited in June 2024. Brazil. Rio de Janeiro. Our tour guide on our food tour showed us this place and it was a total gem! It felt like a real local spot, not touristy at all. The interior is a little old and tired, but that adds to its charm. The waiters are in white suits, the portions are huge, it’s a real Brazilian restaurant with a history. Food: We went to this restaurant twice, and here are our favorites: the codfish croquettes - so crispy on the outside, with a thin crust and super tender and juicy on the inside. You could really taste the fish, the first time we had the croquettes they were seriously good. Then there was the grilled octopus with garlic – the best octopus I've ever had, and the best I've tried in Brazil. It was so soft and tender, with a crispy crust. Perfect balance of flavor and garlic. And their signature dish, the slow-cooked lamb roasted until crispy, with tender meat inside and a crispy crust, what could be better? Also, the rice with broccoli was phenomenal. Service: They have a menu in English, and some of the waiters speak English too, which made it super easy to navigate. The service was overall really good, the dishes came out quickly, and they cleared dirty plates right away. The waiters' uniforms were amazing. Overall: I highly recommend this restaurant. The decor might seem outdated, but it’s all part of the history. This restaurant has been serving guests for a long time. It was a real discovery for us.

Philipp Klaege: Food was not tasty and not suitably prepared. I've got the pork rib, a standard dish in the restaurant and in Brazil. It came fried as well as the potatoes that were served as a side dish. This was absolutely the wrong way to cook a good rib and it wasn't even tasty at all. Cannot recommend despite its long history and presumed quality.
