Henry E. Hall: The MonJardim Family Ranch included 1000's of acres devoted to production of coffee, cotton, produce, cattle and other profitable commodities. But what made this Family powerful in the development of Vitoria and the State of Espirito Santos was their personal relationship with the Portuguese Crown and Emperor Peter, himself. The main Family residence, constructed over 2 decades (1781-1805) is in extremely good condition for it's age occupied by many original furnishings. Members of the Family occupied the home until 1940 before relinquishing it's care and maintenance to state control as a living museum.

Derek Sculthorpe: This is a well-preserved old house once home to the influential Montjardim family. It has a fascinating history and contains many artefacts which give an insight into what it must have been like to live there in the days when there were no other buildings in the vicinity.

familie “graswij” van der Meer: Beautiful place, with super guide in English! Telling us so much more then the museums' history... It was my favorite visit this week, espacially for the interesting talks with the guide, must do!

Weberty Santos: Very interesting for those who want a glimpse of what colonial life was. Fast attraction, though.
